Mission Brief

No mission is made without a plan! Just like how the Coast Guard needs to predict ice cover to make decisions, you need to predict your workload and plan to build an amazing project. 

A little planning can go a long way toward a winning project. Check out our Tips for Planning Your Project.

To tackle that first step, here are some suggestions:

• Learn about the United States Coast Guard (10 minutes)
• Understand the problem statement (30 minutes)
• Dive into the data to see what is available (45 minutes) 
• Brainstorm potential solutions (45 minutes)
